Pac-Man was born on May 21, 1980, by Toru Iwatani, a game designer at Namco. After more than 40 years, Pac-Man continues to gain followers due to its originality. The protagonist of Pac-Man is a yellow circle with a missing portion, resembling a mouth, who must eat all the dots on the board without being caught by the ghosts. There are some more visible dots that, when eaten, give Pac-Man powers, allowing him to devour the ghosts for a few seconds, who will then return to their lair. Also appearing throughout the game are certain elements (cherries, strawberries, apples, etc.), which, when eaten, will give Pac-Man extra points.
